Directions: SOUTH on State Route 5 and U.S. 301 from Washington and Baltimore
Turn left on State Route 5 South, marked "Lexington Park and Leonardtown." Follow
Route 5 (Mattawoman-Beantown Road) approximately three miles to Poplar Hill
road (traffic light). Turn left. Follow Poplar Hill Road approximately three
miles to fork of roads. Bear to your right on Dr. Samuel Mudd Road. Dr. Mudd
House .4 of a mile on the right. Sign at entrance.
Should you miss the turn onto Route 5 South, continue South on Route 5 & 301
until you come to Leonardtown Road (Route 5 business). Turn left and follow
directions listed under North on 301 from Virginia.
NORTH on U.S. 301 from Virginia Turn right on State Business Route 5 (Leonardtown Road). Go through the town of Waldorf. After you past Thomas Stone High School on the right, turn left at the next traffic light onto Route 5 North. Follow Route 5 North .5 of a mile, turn right on Poplar Hill Road, and continue as above.
WEST on State Route 5 from St. Mary's County and Calvert Counties. West at Hughesville on State Route 5. At Bryantown light, turn right on Bryantown Road. Go 2.9 miles to end of road. Turn left on Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Road. Dr. Mudd House 1.5 miles on the left. Sign at entrance.
EAST from State Route 210 (Indian Head Highway) Follow State Route 228 (Berry Road) east. Cross U.S. 301 at Waldorf. Continue on State Business Route 5 (Leonardtown Road). Follow directions listed under North on 301 from Virginia.
Property consists of the House Museum, Gift Shop, Kitchen, Exhibit Building and some outbuildings located on 10 acres.

Museum Hours for 2009
The museum will open March 28, 2009. We will then be open every Wednesday and Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday hours are 12 noon to 4 p.m. The museum is closed on Easter Sunday. Last tour on days open is 3:30 p.m. The musuem will close on November 22, 2009. We will reopen on December 5 & 6, 2009 for our eighth Victorian Christmas. Hours for this event will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The museum will then reopen the last Saturday of March 2010.
If you have guest in town during the time we are closed and I am free, I will

Admission:
Admissions to the museum or to the grounds is $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children ages 6 to 16. Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Society members do not pay a fee to visit the museum. The admission fees of non members helps with the continuous upkeep of preserving the home of Dr. Samuel A. Mudd.
Calendar of Events:
At various time during the year special exhibits are shown in the kitchen. Past exhibits have been President Abraham Lincoln Pictures, Women's Clothing of the Period, and Antique Phonographs. Civil War encampments have been held on the grounds.
