Farm Museum

On August 16, 2003 the Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Society, Inc. opened its Farm Museum to the public. The building is located behind the exhibit building in a metal barn that Joseph Mudd erected several years ago. The idea came from Danny Fluhart who thought it would be nice to display the farm tools that Mrs. Louise Arehart had donated, into their own building. From her items it has grown into a collection of various old hand tools and horse drawn farm machinery. Donations have been received from a number of Southern Maryland Citizens and the York County, Pennsylvania Agricultural and Industrial Museum. In the collection are two walking plows that Allan Mudd donated, which were used on the farm by family members. Should you have any old items to donate or place on loan, call 301-274-9358.
